'Othello' is one of the best-known and most popular plays by William Shakespeare (1564-1616) which belongs to four great tragedies being considered the top of the playwright`s works. The conflict between sincerity and hypocrisy, devotion and careerism, trustfulness and treachery, nobility and meanness incarnate in the images of Shakespeare`s characters exceed the bounds of a purely domestic story about love, jealousy, and revenge, rising to the highest tragic motif of a noble personality`s clash with the world which is insensible and even hostile to the highest human values.
